Private to Self )

I can't believe we only have two more weeks until orientation starts.

Jun. 5th, 2008

Congratulations Seniors! You've all done well, and we're very proud of you.

And for the rest of you, good luck on your finals.

Remember: Anyone in my History classes, I have set up two study sessions this weekend - one on Saturday night, and one Sunday during the day. We'll have pizza and sodas, and all of your study guides for my classes.

And it's worth 5 extra credit points on your final. Remember that. Like getting one answer correct without even trying.

Emily's got a bad cold. She's been coughing and hasn't eaten much today. I'm thinking of keeping her home tomorrow. Or rather, bringing her to class for the first two periods.

Ali, think you can take her during my other two classes?

Figures it'd have to be on a holiday weekend. I guess it was a good thing we didn't go on that picnic after all.

Went furniture shopping today for Em's room. I think she'll like what I picked out. There was a really nice wallpaper border of marine life, so I got that, with some really cool-looking blue paint. I think if a certain someone were to help me, I might be able to make her room look like an aquarium. The dressers are white, and they could be painted too.

I think tomorrow, I might go to the flea markets and see if I can find a shell lamp or some coral or something.

James came with me, and we found a sofa. I don't know if he's really serious about getting a dog, but I suggested he get something kind of rugged if he was serious. Funny how you never really know how these things will hold up.

The one he ended up getting is pretty nice, though. Makes me wish I hadn't gone for that awful pinstripe.

I can't believe how much stuff I've accumulated in my spare bedroom. So far I've gone through about half the room, and thrown away three large garbage bags full of junk.

How did I even fit all of this stuff into the room?

I'm thinking next weekend I'll go shopping for paint and furniture. Time sure is fleeting.

I bought myself an HD Television today. It doesn't fit in my armoire, so I 've got it on one of the plant stands in my living room at the moment.

It'll be nice to watch the Olympics in high-definition. Now, does anyone know anything about bluetooth? My phone and the television are both bluetooth compatible. Does that mean I can send photos from my phone to the television?

One of my fellow faculty members showed me these online journals today. It's pretty interesting actually. I've been thinking of starting my own blog for a while, but never thought it would be this easy to set up.

Of course, one of my students helped me with the initial sign-up, and scanned in some photos of me to make icons. That was rather helpful. I'm not entirely sure how the software works, but I do think if this works out well enough, I might consider loading the software on my home computer, as well.

Oh. Well, he just told me that it isn't software. Apparently I can just use my web page browser and write from home.

Speaking of school - or rather not speaking, but typing about it, I got my class schedule. In addition to AP English History, I'll also be teaching World Religions and Midieval History this year. Finally, the board has decided to go ahead with my proposal for the extra history electives. Personally, I believe it's a result of a certain older member stepping down and her daughter taking over for her.

Still, it means I can actually use parts of my own dissertation in the Mideval History and World Religions classes.

I'll stay on as Forensics Advisor for another year, as well. When they first offered me the position, I don't think they realized just how long I'd want to stay. I suppose my experience debating in High School and College might have helped with their decision, but then again, there are times I don't know if they even read through the resumes and Curriculum Vitae of the faculty here.

I take that back. I'm sure they read through them.

It had just occurred to me that I might want to take a few moments to prepare some materials for the new classes.

Oh, and I will be taking Tristan to the vet later this afternoon, as well. Forgot about that. I'd better go.
